Utah Career College Nursing Program Receives Accreditation for Highest Standards of Education

West Jordan, Utah - August 4, 2009 - Utah Career College (UCC) today announced its nursing program has received initial accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) Board of Commissioners. The two-year associate degree program prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Exam to become licensed registered nurses.

The NLNAC, and its predecessor, the National League for Nursing, have worked to establish standards of excellence for all types of nursing education for more than 50 years. Utah Career College’s NLNAC accreditation demonstrates that the school meets the highest standards of nursing education.

“This is a significant achievement for our school,” said Janica Johnson, acting program chair of nursing for Utah Career College. “We are very proud to offer the highest standard of nursing education to our students, and we look forward to the contributions they will make to the nursing profession.”

I’m a former graduate of this nursing program and can attest to the fact it was excellent in helping me prepare for a career as a nurse. I was wondering if the accreditation is retro-active?
