Why its important to create a relationship with your professor - its not just brown nosing anymore

We all know about brown nosing, some don’t do it, some do, some go over the top (you know who you are you creepy person you). But what does brown nosing do, well besides from that stupid term getting a tiny bit buddy buddy with your teacher can really help you short and long term. When your professor likes you, or has connected with you in some way, they tend to look at you in a better light. Come on we all know it, Teachers either can have a nice sliding scale on a student that can change each class. Love, hate, neutral etc. You want to be loved (trusssttt me on this one!). Networking later in life, if you build a solid relationship can come into play or that one time the dog ate the homework (cough) if the teacher likes you they are much more willing to work with you, help you out, and try to understand. So instead of puffing on the cigg during break (don’t cry, it will be ok!) go up and ask how their day or weekend was. Or after class say bye, or see you next week, start the relationship going. PROFESSORS ARE HUMANS TOO. Remember that, it will save your bum if you do.

It is crucial to get to know your professor in the fact that they will be able to help you. They have more knowledge and have been through more than you have, and in the future you will count on them to help you. In business, it is important to maintain in contact with all different sources, you will never know when you will need help.
