Social Networking Over Xbox Live?
It is no secret by people who know me that I like to play video games. Multi-player gaming using the internet is part of the reason I got so into computer networking. I also believe that in the future, gaming systems will be so multifunctional that they will be able to single-handedly run your home theater, and definitely not limited to just that. So I logged on to my Xbox 360 yesterday for a Halo 3 session, and I see on my dashboard that Facebook and Twitter are now available on your console and I had to check it out. I downloaded the file from the dashboard, which took less than 15 seconds to complete and I was set to go. I logged into my Facebook account and found an interface very similar to the dashboard, but it had all Facebook functions and was blue in color like the web page is. It was very smooth, and I didn’t get a chance to check out Twitter but I am sure it is just as functional. I never really thought I would see something like this from Xbox, but I am looking forward to seeing what other cool functions the gaming console manufacturers can come up with with these things.
