Spring 2010

Step 1: Please see bookroom hours of operation below and choose a day and time to come in and pick up your schedule and books. Avoid waiting in long lines by coming in sooner rather than later.

Step 2: Pick up your official schedule (on colored paper) at the front desk during bookroom hours of operation.

Step 3: Bring your official schedule to the bookroom on 2nd floor to pick-up your books. Your books will not be released to you unless you present an official copy of your schedule.

Veterinary Technology Scholarship Opportunity

MAVT Scholarship

The 2010 Essay topic is: “The Day I Decided to Become a Veterinary Technician.” Did one moment make that first step toward changing your life? Have you known since you were little that you wanted to work with animals? Is Veterinary Technology a second career for you? Tell us how you decided that becoming a CVT was right for you.

How to enter: Essays must be at least 500 words and of high quality. Please attach a submission letter noting which college you are attending and any student organizations in which you participate as well as any volunteer positions. Include your contact information and email (in attached form) to darcymar@yahoo.com or mail to MAVT, PO Box 580194, Minneapolis, MN 55458. Submissions must be received by March 20, 2010. Winners will be chosen at the April MAVT Board Meeting. Winners will be notified in person by his/her program director. Winners will have MAVT prize money applied to tuition. Submissions may appear in the newsletter.

Student qualifications:

  • Applicants must be a current student member of MAVT
  • Must be a student in good standing and at least half way through an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program with a GPA of 3.5 or higher

Blood Drive a Success!

Congratulations MSB-Lakeville on a very successful first time blood drive!

We collected 34 good units of blood! This is an outstanding accomplishment for a college campus and a first time blood drive. We want to thank everyone who was involved and donated. Working together, we helped save lives!

Red Cross Blood Drive
We will be hosting an exercise class in the student lounge 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
We will be presenting on healthy eating habits – treats and bottled water will be served

Thursday, March 4
Game Day

Join us in the student lounge for board games, Wii games and treats 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Friday, March 5
Global Citizenship

Breakfast will be served in the morning

Spring Textbooks

MSB Lakeville is getting ready to order textbooks for next quarter, so we need to know where you would like to pick them up. Unless you specifically request otherwise, your textbook for each class will be sent to the campus at which you are taking the class. In the case of online classes, books will be sent to your home campus. If you would like to have all of your books sent here or to any other campus, please email Jeremy Quinn (jquinn@msbcollege.edu) by Friday, March 5th. Thanks!

Bedrace for Bridging at Buck Hill

Join us for the Twelfth Annual SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING, presented by Cities 97 that will take off at Buck Hill Saturday, March 6, 2010. Teams of four are invited to race down the tubing hill atop queen-sized mattresses. One hundred percent of registration fees and fundraising efforts benefit Bridging.

When: Saturday, March 6
Cost per team: $125

Day of race registration: $170 per team

Must be 18-years-old or older to participate in the Bedrace.
