Globe University students, faculty and staff participated in the 2010 Heart Walk this past Saturday, August 28th.   It was a great success with over 2000 participants.  We raised money and had over 20 volunteers from Globe University helping with all aspects of the walk, from running the kids area to giving directions on the walk.  We had students teaching CPR at booths, handing out refreshments at the Eat Street, registering walkers, and teaching walk participants about nitrition.  Thank you to all who volunteered, raised money, walked and gave! 

We are pleased to announce that the Sioux Falls Campus has just completed its ABHES visit with 0 citations and 2 exceeds expectations!  The visiting team was extremely impressed with our Medical Assisting program and their experience over the past 2 days.  This was a team effort and we wanted to thank everyone involved.  The outcome is reflective of everyone’s commitment to this accreditation process.

We wanted to thank the Compliance team members for their tremendous contribution and support for our visit.

A very special thanks goes to our Medical Assistant Program Chair, Amy Zobel, for the countless hours she put into the preparation and execution of our visit.  The visiting team was especially impressed by Amy!

Globe University goes one step further in animal care and safety.  Construction is complete at the Sioux Falls Campus on an outdoor fenced in area where animals can be walked on a leash safely.   This area will be a safe and secure way to exercise leashed animals, without fear of them getting away and getting injured.   This is just one more representation that ‘We Care’.

Project S.O.S. is program supported by the Banquet, is a feeding ministry that serves hungry people in our community in the spirit of dignity and respect.  Project S.O.S. or ‘Supply Our Students’ provides over 5,500 backpacks full of the necessary and required school supplies needed for children living in and around the city of Sioux Falls.  We will have some wonderful students from Globe University stuffing/packing the bags on Friday August 13th and distributing the bags on Saturday, August 14th.

Attention Medical Assistant Students:

The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) will be visiting our campus today & tomorrow.

This visit is a regular part of our accreditation process.  In general, we should plan on ‘business as usual’ during the visit.  Among other activities, team members will be visiting your classrooms to conduct surveys and to speak with you about your educational experience here at Globe University - Sioux Falls.  Please provide a warm welcome for our guests.

We are excited to be out at the fair and encourage you to come stop by our booth.  We are located in the Expo building  Tuesday - Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 12noon to 9pm.  We will have our plinko game setup to try your luck and win a prize (can koozies, water bottles, pens, t-shirts, etc).  If you,  your friends, or family are interested in learning more about the educational opportunities at Globe University stop by and see us.
