You may be wondering what renewal action is necessary given the recent emails sent by the Department of Education. What the Dept of Education does is send emails to all students who have a current FAFSA on file making them aware that the new FAFSA for 2010-11 is now available. What this email doesn’t do is make you aware that your current FAFSA is valid until June, 30 2010 and the new 2010-11 FAFSA will take effect on July 1, 2010. So this isn’t something you need to be immediately concerned with, but with that being said, it is never a bad idea to get your FAFSA done early. You will need your 2009 taxes, so once those are complete you could do your FAFSA nice and early.
Also, toward the end of February, we will begin to email students that FAFSA renewal packets are available for pickup. These packets will be in the student lounge and the FA offices; they are intended to give you a checklist of the renewal items needed and some instructions. So please keep an eye on your student email account and this blog for further information on when the renewal packets are available for pickup.
As always, the financial aid department is available to assist with your concerns and questions. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
Thank You,
Elk River Financial Aid Team

Our first Medical Health Club will be meet on the 19th November, at 1:00 pm in room 203.
Topics will include deciding on an official name for the group, ordering lab coats, and projects and activities that will take place over the next few quarters. We will also elect officers for the club, including a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
This is a great chance for any interested Medical students to set the ground work and establish how you want to the club to run, be part of the community and have a lasting impression on the school!
